Lieutenant Lew Roberts,

The act of intercepting an armed robber is among the highest of risks a law officer might encouter. To die in the process is to have died in battle. This alone deems you a place among the bravest. Even to this day, with our law officer advances, there is no replacement for courage and grit. We who wear the badge and call ourselves soldiers of the law admire your sacrifice. We proudly express our awe for your demonstation of valor. It renders you gallant and brings honor to all of us. I present to you, sir, a final salute!

Detective Roberts,
On today, the 74th anniversary of your murder, I would like to say thank you for your service and sacrifice for the citizens of Scranton. It took another year, but two of your murderers got the justice that they deserved.

As a child I was told a tale that took place thirteen years before I was born. It was about a nameless policeman who laid down his life to help stop a crime, to help save another. Now seventy three years after your death, I have learned your name.

Rest in Peace- Det. LT. Lew Roberts
