Sheriff Ricker, My great Grandfather, was the beginning of a Law Enforcement tradition in my family. His son, Wilson, served on the Natrona County Sheriff for 5 years. My brother, Ricker (named for my Mother's maiden name) is a retired San Bernardino County Deputy Sheriff and I am a retired El Monte Police Sergeant.

Sheriff Ricker was a U.S. Army scout who fought at fort Casper and his finger was shot off during an Indian battle at that location. He later was shot in the head in the Spanish American war. That wound was repaired by a silver plate.

While the Sheriff of Natrona County, he was also the Assistant Fire Chief of the CasWyomingming Volunteer Fire Department.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 110th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect, not even 110 years.

Rest In Peace
