Reflections for Patrol Officer Thomas Reese

God rest his soul.

Sgt. Robert A. Henne
Jersey City PD/Ret.

Ten to twenty years seems a very light sentence for robbing this man of his life and his family from enjoying him. I am his grand niece. Born in 1944. I never got to know him because this man grabbed his gun and killed him. Why didn't he get a life sentence? Seems only appropriate.

Tom Reese was my great uncle. I never met him as he was killed before I was born. (I was born in 1944.) He was spoken of with love by my gram. I am looking into my roots and would love to find his obituary and more about him so that I can learn more about our mutual ancestors. He was so young.

My grandmother, Rachel (Reese) Jeffery was Tom's sister.

Thank you Uncle Tom, sorry I didn't know you. Peace

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 70th anniversary year of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace
