Reflections for Sergeant Orville E. Quinnette
I never met you, but you are my great uncle. My dad followed in your footsteps and became an IPD officer. He has since retired. And now my niece is an IMPD officer. I am very proud of them. My grandpa (your brother) used to tell me your story. When my brothers and sister were growing up, we would sometimes go to the station with dad and we would stand in front of the memorial and find your picture. (I still do). After all these years you are still remembered and honored. And I am proud you are my uncle.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 76th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
