Officer Owen, you are the epitome of a motor officer and your organization will always remember your tenacity and dedication and more importantly your ultimate sacrifice. I will be reading your name aloud at the California Highway Patrol Academy on May 5th, 2015 as part of the Officer Memorial activities. Thank you and God bless.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 69th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Rest In Peace

Wow. As I read this reflection, I know that I am reading about a true hero. I have never read about an officer returning to duty after two separate, not to mention, serious accidents. I applaud your heroism and pray that I may be even a small percentage of the officer that you were. Even though I did not know you, I still consider you to be a brother. Rest in peace my friend.
