Your heroism and service is honored today, the 81rst anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never dimishes respect, not even 81 years.

Rest In Peace

I have never met you, but I salute you. I am not a police officer yet, but hope to continue on in the footsteps of great men and women like you.

Chief John O'Steen was my Great-Grandfather. His end of watch was long before I was born, however I feel he is a part of my life. Chief O'Steen started a tradition of law enforcement in my family, for this I am thankful! I have heard many stories of him and wish I had the opportunity to know him. Chief O'Steen has been my role model and hero!!
Thanks Grandpa!!
