Reflections for Detective Patrolman Patrick J. O'Neill

Grandpa Pat: it is my duty to pass along this page to another generation! I am now a Great-grand mother.....I was married to a Warrior of another sort. You would have liked my Tony...he spent 22 years in the U.S. Army.....our son spent time in both the Army & Navy. You generated many warriors. Praying you can see the family you left behind. Until we all meet in Heaven.

Do your great-grandfather I wanted to remember you it was 100 years ago in 2 days that you were murdered. Killed by a man that had no regard for life yet he lived on because he escaped. But he will not escape the judgment of our Lord and heavenly Father. Rest in peace great grandfather you will always be remembered. Christy

Dear Great-Grandfather, As my cousin Bea Aird said in her memory, You are a legend and hero in our family. You are remembered in our hearts, thoughts and prayers. As cousin Bea said, not many left in the family but we never met you in person but I feel I know you more and more as I research family genealogy. I find out more about you and all your family every month.
You will always be remembered as the family Hero.
May you continue to rest and one day I hope to meet you.

Love, your great-grandaughter Christy

You are a true legend in our family. However, as we age, there are fewer of us to keep your memory alive. Therefore, I am so pleased that this is available. My mom, you youngest daughter, was only four when you were killed. How sad she never really got to know her dad! She turned out pretty A-OK. May you all rest in peace.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the ninety-first anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

It is infuriating that your killer escaped from prison and apparently lived decades as a free man. God is the final arbitrer of justice and he is answerable to death.

Rest In Peace.

Patrick J. O'Neill was my great grandfather. He died much too young, but his blood line has advanced another five generations and his memory is still alive.
