Officer O'donnell was my grandmother's brother. To my mother, her siblings and her cousins, Officer O'Donnell was "Uncle Eddie the policeman". My family remembers "Uncle Eddie" as the ever trustworthy and respectable beat cop. The neighborhood kids would happily tag along behind him if they spotted him making rounds. Eddie's only young daughter Hope was my mother's age. Hope spent so much time with my mother's family after Eddie's death that she was thought to have been my mother's third sister. Sad times for the O'Donnell and Ward Clans on munjoy Hill.

I was issued Uncle Eddie's badge number 42

To fully appreciate the heroes of the present, we must recognize our heroes of the past. Your heroism and service is honored today, the 81rst anniversary year of your death. I am priviliged to be among the first to leave a tribute to you. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace
