John Linklater

Game Warden John Linklater drowned while on patrol on Basswood Lake.

The canoe he was operating overturned and he was thrown into the water. The motor on the canoe then struck him in the head, dazing him. His body wasn't found for five days.

Warden Linklater was survived by his wife and daughter.

I had the privilege of riding in a motorcycle ride that was for fallen officers. I pulled your name. I wonder so many things about you and your life as a game warden. I want to thank you for your service and hope your descendants have been blessed and are living lives worthy of your sacrifice.
