Walter Ray Jones

Patrolman Jones was killed in a motorcycle accident near the intersection of First Street and Main Street in Nashville. Patrolman Jones was showing a new patrolman on how to operate the motorcycle when the accident occurred. As Patrolman Jones was passing another vehicle the motorcycle handlebar accidentally struck a vehicle rear fender. Patrolman Jones was taken to a nearby hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The second Patrolman suffered minor injuries.

Patrolman Jones served with the Tennessee Highway Patrol for eight years. He was survived by his wife and two children.
