Conservation Officer Francisco Isezaki was shot and killed after he and another conservation officer encountered three poachers near the pump station on the Naval Magazine facility at 12:30 am.

The other officer pursued two of the men who ran into the jungle but Officer Isezaki remained with the third man. The second officer returned after hearing several gunshots and discovered that Officer Isezaki had been shot twice.

The man who shot Officer Isezaki was charged with first-degree murder. The other two brothers, including one juvenile, were charged with trespassing on government property.

Officer Isezaki had served with the Guam Department of Agriculture - Division of Aquatic and Wildlife Resources for three years. He is survived by his wife and child.

He turned 45 the day before he was killed.
