Deputy Sheriff Larry Blancher suffered a fatal heart attack following a pursuit and arrest of a violent suspect on Kelly Street and Maude Avenue in Haywood.
Deputy Blancher had served with the Alameda County Sheriff's Office for 17 years. He was survived by his wife and son.
