Acting Detective Anthony Tekulve succumbed to gunshot wounds received two weeks earlier when he and a companion attempted to arrest two men who had been terrorizing citizens with a revolver at 670 Carr Street in Cincinnati.
Officers returned fire and one of the suspects was struck and killed. Another officer was also shot by the suspects. He returned to duty four months later.
The suspect was convicted of first-degree murder and executed in the electric chair on February 20, 1925.
Acting Detective Tekulve had served with the Cincinnati Police Department for 16 and half years. He was survived by his wife and son, who also served with the Cincinnati Police Department.
