Thomas Joseph Sullivan

Patrolman Thomas Sullivan was killed in a motorcycle crash on Soldier's Field Road in Brighton when his police motorcycle collided with a car.

Patrolman Sullivan was a Massachusetts National Guard veteran and had served with the Metropolitan Police Department for one month. He was survived by his wife, two sons, father, two brothers, and three sisters. One of his brothers went on to serve with the Boston Police Department.

My nephew (James Sullivan) and I have found Patrolman Thomas J. Sullivan's picture with the evidence to support it. Patrolman Thomas Sullivan is my Grand Uncle (Brother to my Grandfather Patrolman Patrick F. Sullivan (aka P.F. Sullivan)). The picture is his WWI recruting photo from the MA State Archives. Pg 49 of The Commonwealth of Massachusetts Annual Report of the Adjutant General Year Ending December 31, 1929 confirms his death on Oct 5, 1929 which matches his Officer Down date. I also have my Grandfather's (Patrick) entry in his police log book discussing Thomas's death and the bereavement leave he took for his brother Thomas. I will send you the file.
