Officer David Rose was accidentally shot and killed by a Montgomery County, Maryland, following a pursuit of a robbery and kidnapping suspect that ended in Montgomery County.

The suspect vehicle stopped on I-495, near University Boulevard, and a struggle ensued as they attempted to arrest the man. The officer's gun was discharged when his arm was bumped during the struggle.

Officer Rose had served with the Metropolitan Police Department for nine months. He was survived by his expectant wife and one child.
