To the Grandfather I never knew,

I was born in July of 1963 over year after your passing. We never had the heart felt exchanges/teachings that are passed from grandfathers to grandsons. Having known little of your life for much of mine there has always been something missing. When mom and I visited the Idaho State Troopers Memorial, I gained a far greater knowledge and respect for the lineage from which I came. Someone once told me “Remember who you are and what you represent”. That gives me a goal to strive for in the way I live my life and what I pass on to my children. The greater good is serving and helping all those who need my assistance. Knowing the sacrifice and dedication that you displayed in your career has given me great pride and a belief in my own abilities. So after fifty years of my life, I have grown to realize that you have passed on to me a core belief system that has held me true to my course in life.

Thank you, your Grandson
