Lieutenant Sharon Moore and her husband, Deputy Joseph Moore, were shot and killed on their way to work. Lieutenant Moore's ex-husband began firing at them with a shotgun while chasing their vehicle. Both officers were wounded and could not take action to save their lives. After their vehicle stopped in a parking lot the suspect shot them again with the shotgun.
The suspect was shot and killed by a responding officer.
Lieutenant Moore succumbed to her injuries three weeks after the incident.
