Noel Ray Miller

Police Officer Noel Miller was shot and killed while he and three other area law enforcement officers conducted a narcotics raid on a home at 2813 Canfield Street at about 8:15 pm.

As they approached the house a suspect ran inside. The officers chased him into the home and into a back room. As Officer Miller entered the room, he was shot by the suspect.

The subject was convicted of capital murder and executed on August 12, 1960.

Officer Miller was a United States Marine Corps Korean War veteran and served with the Houston Police Department for four years. He was survived by his wife, daughter, and son.
