Patrolman Miller died from injuries received in an automobile accident during a vehicle pursuit. The suspect was acquitted of charges in connection with Patrolman Miller's death in two separate trials.

Patrolman Miller was survived by his expectant wife and five children.

I am fortunate enough to call one of Patrolman Miller's children a friend. I know he would be so very proud of all the work Brenda does in his honor, and in the honor of all fallen officers. Brenda was only eight when she lost her father - but it is clear that he instilled some very high values in her.
