Patrolman Miculka was struck and killed by a vehicle while chasing a suspect who had escaped from custody. Patrolman Miculka had transported the man to the Fort Bend County Jail where the man was able to exit the patrol car and started to run through traffic, while still handcuffed. Patrolman Miculka was struck as he attempted to catch him.
Patrolman Miculka had been with the agency for one year and was survived by his wife and son.
