Officer Levy McQuietor succumbed to burns sustained 26 days earlier when he was engulfed by flames.
He was assigned to clean the shower stalls inside the station and was using a flammable liquid to do the cleaning. The liquid ignited, causing burns over 60% of his body.
Officer McQuietor had served with the Dallas Police Department for four years, and had previously served with the United States Army. He was survived by his wife and daughter.
