Private Frank McManus was killed in an automobile accident while attempting to overtake a tractor trailer on US Highway 93 near McGill, Nevada.

His vehicle went out of control on the icy roadway and rolled over several times before coming to rest on the shoulder of the road.
Private McManus had been employed with the Nevada State Police for one year.

Your heroism and service is honored today on the 71rst anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.
