Allen Bruce McLeod, Sr.

Patrolman McLeod was shot and killed after responding to a call of a man with a firearm inside of a moving company. When Patrolman McLeod arrived he parked his patrol car about 15 feet from the entrance of the moving company. From a second floor window the suspected open fire on the Patrolman McLeod with a .308 caliber rifle, striking him in the head, chest and heart killing him instantly. As Patrolman McLeod lay on the ground the suspect fired more rounds at the officer. After wounding three officers during a 10-hour standoff, the suspect shot and killed himself.

Patrolman McLeod was survived by his wife and children.

RIP Allen . You will always be " Deputy Dawg" to me. Having only worked with you for 7 years , I know that you were one of the most dedicated and devoted officers on NRPD. I lost alittle of myself that day at Neptune and wish that we could have gotten to you sooner . February 14, 1977 will forever be on my mind as one of the longest days of my life
