Sheriff McInnis drowned after being caught in a bad storm while searching for deer poachers. Sheriff McInnis' boat was found capsized the following day. His body was never recovered.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
