Patrolman McDonald was shot and killed as he attempted to arrest a man for creating a disturbance. During the ensuing struggle Patrolman McDonald was shot in the forehead and killed.

The suspect was arrested a short time later and charged with Patrolman McDonald's murder.

Patrolman McDonald had served with the agency for only a few months. He was survived by his two brothers.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
