Patrolman Henry McCall was shot and killed as he responded to a silent alarm at a local bank. The bank had a history of having false alarms. As he exited his vehicle he was confronted by two suspects who opened fire, striking him in the head.

Patrolman McCall's murder was never solved. The primary suspect died in prison a few years after the murder.

At the time of his death Patrolman McCall had been married for only two weeks.

I went through the Police Academy at Polk Community College in Winterhaven, Florida with Dave in 1977. Dave was lots of fun to be around and was a real asset to his department. The circumstances he encountered that morning were a million to one, but they happen. RIP brother.
