William F. McAndrew

Lieutenant William McAndrew succumbed to gunshot wounds sustained two days earlier when he was attempting to arrest a member of a gang in Dickson City.

The suspect was executed by hanging on December 3, 1914. The execution was the state's last hanging before switching to the electric chair.

Lieutenant McAndrew had served with the Carbondale Police Department for 15 years. He was survived by his mother and wife.
