Officer Robert Manzione suffered a fatal heart attack after chasing a suspect that had just committed a robbery at 60 Columbia Street in Manhattan.

Officer Manzione was assigned to the 7th Precinct and was survived by his wife.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 33rd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never dimishes respect, and your memory will always be honoed and revered.. I pray for solace for all those who love and miss you for I know both the pain and pride are forever.
