Albert J. Mallen, Sr.

Detective Albert Mallen was shot and killed while while serving a narcotics related search warrant in Westville. He was shot in the face with a 12-gauge shotgun while looking around a corner.

The suspect was sentenced to death but died of natural causes while awaiting execution.

Detective Mallen had served with the agency for over 14 years. He was survived by his wife, daughter, two sons, mother, and four sisters.

May you rest in peace, you are not forgotten. My father served with you in the NJSP and always spoke highly of you and your example (and still does). I pray most of all for your family, that they may know the peace that surpasses all understanding.
