Patrolman Lindesmith was struck and killed by a vehicle while crossing the street in a crosswalk at the intersection of Walnut Avenue and 7th Street, SE. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene

Patrolman Lindesmith had served with the agency for 22 years. He was survived by his wife and several children.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 83rd anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect, not even 83 years.
