Deputy Laws was killed in a motorcycle accident while escorting a funeral procession. His motorcycle was struck by a lumber truck at an intersection.

Deputy Laws had served with the Chester County Sheriff's Department for 6 months. He was survived by his wife, two daughters, and son.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
