So, I did not have the pleasure of meeting Officer Laffey. But I did have the wonderful fortune to be best friends with his daughter growing up. We grew up in a tiny town North of Wichita, and I'm pretty sure I spent as much time at the Laffey house as I did at my own (if not more). What I learned is that much of Danny lives on in Danielle. His kindness, concern for others, loyalty, and genuine concern for what others are going through. These are all traits that she inherited from Danny (and I'm sure also from her mother.) I am sure Danny would be proud, not only of who his daughter has grown to be, but also of who she was growing up................. and her continued respect and support for the officers who put their lives on the line everyday. May his legacy live on. I wish I had the chance to meet you Officer Laffey.
