Sergeant Jordon was killed while responding to a disturbance call with his emergency equipment activated. His patrol car was struck by a tractor trailer at the intersection of Highway 231 and Highway 41A.

Sergeant Jordon had been with the agency for 29 years and was survived by his wife, son, five sisters, and one brother.

I met your son today when he came by the hospital to take a report from me as I was bitten by a stray dog. Your son was very professional. He mentioned that you were taken away from us in the line of duty. I just wanted to let you know that in the short time that I spent with your son, I knew enough to know that he was raised right. You have two grand children as well. I know that you are proud of your son, and he is proud of you and his grandpa as well. Thank you for your service, sir. God bless you and your family.
