Trooper Kolilis was struck and killed by a pick-up truck while assisting a stranded motorist. A 16-year-old male was driving the truck and he did not see Trooper Kolilis standing in the roadway.

Trooper Kolilis had served with the agency for one year. He was survived by his wife and parents.

Even after all these years, I think of your smile. To some, a police officer doing his job; To me... a friend I'll never forget. Bob .... your heart was as big as all outdoors. Your sense of humor so welcoming. I know that someday we'll see each other again, but until then, rest in peace. In Gods care now. Love you always dear friend.
