Policeman Klade was shot and killed by a mentally disturbed suspect.

Policeman Klade had been called to the home of a bank official in San Pedro, when he found a man attempting to force entrance through a rear door. The officer was stabbed
and then shot to death. The suspect was killed in a gun fight with four other policemen a few minutes later.
