Police Officer Michael Niehoff was killed in an accident involving two cruisers responding to backup another officer at the scene of a domestic disturbance call at approximately 4:00 am.

The two patrol cars collided at the intersection of North Sherman Boulevard and West Burleigh Street.

Officer Niehoff, who served with the U.S. Marine Corps, has been with the Milwaukee Police Department for three years and was assigned to the 7th District.

It’s been about 22 years now since we lost you , Mike. A few days ago we lost another brother in blue due to a squad accident. Charles Irving, a young man with three years on also. Welcome him in heaven where I know you now reside. I retired almost two years ago and often think of those who did not especially you. I can’t believe I now add another friend to that list.
