Here it is 47 years later and I vividly recall that evening lifting George off the pavement by his uniform coat and seeing his eyes roll back. With the help of a couple officers on the scene we shoved him into the backseat of a Patrol car and rushed him to the hospital where they were unable to save him.He was such a big man I remember folding his legs up and slamming the door on his legs that I had to fold up.As I previously written my partner now deceased ,Bruce Backer and myself would routinely stop by his home ( on the same street where he was killed) and check on the welfare of his wife Bernice and son .November 14th a sad day.
