I was the last member of the great team of dedicated medical personnel who tried, unsuccessfully to keep you with us. I am not ashamed of the fact that tears were streaming down my face as the chief surgeon physically stopped me from continuing CPR. It was after the fourth or fifth time I had begged him to let me continue for just five more minutes. I was an Army physician assistant on temporary duty at West Point from the 82nd Airborne. If you had lived I like to think that we would have been great friends.

I honor your memory every year even if it is only a quiet prayer for your soul in some secluded spot wherever I happen to be.
