Sergeant Amer Kellar was killed while assisting at a fire scene. A ladder with two firemen on it broke, sending the ladder and the firemen falling, landing on Sergeant Keller, who was crushed.

Sergeant Kellar had served with the agency for 21 years. He was survived by his wife and children.

My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.
