Warden Johnson was shot and killed while attempting to arrest a man for illegal beaver trapping. The suspect was also shot and wounded before being taken into custody.

The suspect was convicted of second degree manslaughter and sentenced to 6 to 7 years in prison November 12, 1929.

Einar was my Grandmother's older brother. She told me about the circumstances of his death when I was just a small boy. She sat with him in the hospital until he died. She loved him very much. She said he was her favorite brother. She named her youngest son (Einar Scott) after him.
