Patrol Inspector Charles Inch was killed when he fell underneath a train at the Michigan Central Tunnel Yard in Detroit, Michigan, at approximately 3:00 am.

He was attempting to board the moving train near the intersection of 14th Street and Bagley Street to investigate two suspected illegal aliens when he fell underneath the wheels. The two men were later located and determined to be United States citizens.

Inspector Inch had served with the United States Border Patrol for one year.
