Trooper Davidson Whiting was killed when a van jumped a median barrier and struck his patrol car head-on on Route 128 in Lexington.

Trooper Whiting was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and had served with the Massachusetts State Police for two years. He was survived by his wife.

Every time I visit the base exchange and commissary at Hanscom Air Force Base, I drive on the over pass named in your honor. You were a good Marine and I am proud to have served with you in the Marine Wing Support Squadron at N.A.S. South Weymouth. Rest in Peace brother.
