I was on a ride-along with the LA County Sheriff’s deputies that terrible night and ours was the 2nd patrol car to arrive on the scene.
Officer Hoffman was transported to the hospital where I worked. It was very sad to watch the anguished faces of the officer’s colleagues as they visited their friend.
Officer Hoffman was only 24 years old!
