Deputy Hill,

I just took the black band off of my badge 80 years later. Those of us who know what happened and how you gave your life will never forget. I'd like to think that that kind of thing couldn't happen today, I guess that's why we don't ware our weapons into the jail. Know that all this time later we still remember you and that you made this place a bit safer while you were here. There are hundereds of us now making a difference in this cow town that became a metropolis. If you could see us now I know you would be proud at what we are and the community that we protect. Sedgwick County is an amazing place. I was born and raised here and now I'm honered to protect it just like you did so many years ago. Rest easy and know that the watch continues so many years later. I'd like to think that's the way you wanted it so many years ago.
