William Higgins

Patrolman Higgins was killed in a motorcycle accident while on duty.

Patrolman Higgins was on patrol when his department motorcycle when a tire blew-out on the motorcycle causing Patrolman Higgins to loose control and strike a tree. Patrolman Higgins was removed to St. Luke's Hospital where he died the next day from his injuries.

Patrolman Higgins was assigned to Motorcycle Squad 1, the present day Highway 1.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 86th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.
