Patrolman John Higgins was killed in a motorcycle accident while on patrol in the town of Southborough. He had just left the Framingham Barracks when his motorcycle collided with an automobile on Framingham Road and Newton Street.

Patrolman Higgins had been with the agency for nine months.

Nine months doesn't even give a rough idea of what kind of career you might have had as a member of the Massachusetts State Police. Patrolman Higgins, though you were not protecting the Commonwealth long, you did your job none-the-less and you deserve to be honored for that. I'm glad you are, here.
