View all 12 ReflectionsRest in peace great great grandfather Samuel! I was proud as was my immediate family to have been able to attend and witness your long awaited and deserved dedication ceremony on October 4, 2017 by the State of Missouri and the Washington County and Jefferson County Sheriff’s Departments. Your final resting place had been lost for so many years! It was only by the grace of God through Tim Ogle that your shattered headstone was found 146 years later buried in dirt and you received the much deserved dedication ceremony from the community you served and protected but never received. I am proud to have followed in your footsteps in my own career in federal law enforcement as is my son who currently serves in federal law enforcement. I know you watched over me during my entire career and continue to watch over your great great great grandson, Matthew.
