Patrolman Herriage was shot and killed while attempting to search a suspect he stopped for questioning. The man suddenly pulled out a hidden pistol and shot him. The suspect was later apprehended after being shot and wounded by other officers.

Every time I hear of a policeman being shot brings back memories of the evening news report of Kenneth being shot and killed. He was my cousin, but I liked to think of him as an older brother.
