Officer Henderson was killed when he was struck and run over by a bus that he had just left on Wayne Avenue and Lincoln Drive after finishing a four-hour shift. He was a 23-year veteran.

I wanted to correct the reflection I just posted which had an inaccurate date. You have actually been dead seventy years.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the 70th anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered.

I was saddened to see that Christmas Day is the eow for so many, many officers. Rest In Peace.
