Patrolman Hauptman and Detective Francis Dailey were killed in an airplane accident while returning to Morristown Airport following a reconnaissance flight searching for marijuana crop. During their return to the airport the Cessna 150 stalled and then clipped a tree and crashed into the ground.

Your heroism and service is honored today, the thirty-fifth anniversary of your death. Your memory lives and you continue to inspire. Thank you for your service. My cherished son Larry Lasater was a fellow police officer who was murdered in the line of duty on April 24, 2005 while serving as a Pittsburg, CA police officer.

Time never diminishes respect. Your memory will always be honored and revered. Rest In Peace.

I pray for the solace of all those who love and miss you for I know both their pain and pride are forever.
